Get to know us
Team ARES Robotics is a group of young engineering
undergraduates from Netaji Subhas University of
Technology that represents India in various
International Competition like URC (University Rover
Challenge) and ERC (European Rover Challenge).
Our team consists of students, highly interested in
the field of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and
having an aim of designing and fabricating a fully
functional Rover that can be used in the early
exploration of the Mars.
Our projects required students having various skills
and interests, that makes our team divide into 5 major
sub teams (Software, Electronics, Mechanical, Science
and Business).
Recently we qualified for the European Rover Challenge
and were among the top 50 teams all over the world.

The Pillars of our Team
Our Mechanical Department develops all mechanical aspects of the rover: the drive system, chassis, arm, propulsions, hydraulics, pneumatics and scientific devices. The reliablilty and performance of the mechincal systems is the bedrock for all operations of the rover.
Our Software Department develops the processes for the operations of our rover. The subteam constructs subroutines for autonomous traversal, terrain mapping, motor controls, arm manipulation, remote communication, and data analysis.
Our Electronics Department provides power for the rovers, with wire management, power vigilance, safety, PCB design, and hardware organization. Their eletrical expertise supplies the other teams with the freedom to develop brilliant solutions.
Our science team cooperates heavily with other substeams to develop the theories and methods for determining the prescence of extraterrestrial life. We employ theoritical and experimental techniques from astrobiology such as spectroscopy, chemical analysis, and microbiology to analyze soil for the presence of extinct or extant life.
Our management team forms a critical part of the ARES mission. It keeps the team together and contributes in managing all the operations happening inside the team. The department handles planning, presentation and organization for the whole team. Smooth conduct of all the operations makes them the backbone of ARES.
Our business and outreach department plays an important part in the ARES mission. It records the expenses and contributes in sponsoring all the initiatives taken up by the team. It also handles documentation, finances and outreach for the whole team. They handle all the treasury, which plays an vital role in fulfilling our Teams facilities.

Team Ares is an undergraduate multi-disciplinary student team of space aficionados from Netaji Subhas Institute Of Technology (NSIT) working to formulate, design and fabricate a rover that can be put to use in early exploration of Mars.
Showcasing all those who contributed to this Innovation
While we are extremely passionate about robotics, however as students our progress is severely hindered by a lack of funds. Building a rover from scratch is a tough and equally expensive task. With a large team of various disciplines teaming up to address several challenges, we require to build the rover's body, sophisticated communication systems, a rather precise robotic arm, stereo vision system and much more. The cost for such a project is insanely huge to be funded by a group of students like us. While we try and make the best of whatever resources we can aquire, we almost definitely cannot be successful without outside aid.
We are looking for Sponsors and Donors alike. If you are interested in supporting a young enthusiastic team working hard to bring home a passion for robotics, please do reach out to us. You can also support us through our online fundraising campaign on Ketto.
